The Lincoln Land Community College Foundation will sponsor virtual events beginning tomorrow, Nov. 10, to assist students applying for college scholarships. Parents, guardians and family members are also welcome to attend.
鈥淪cholarships 101 will help individuals prepare for the upcoming scholarship application season by providing a general overview of applying for scholarships, how to select and ask your scholarship references for a recommendation, as well guidance on writing the personal essay for scholarship applications,鈥 said Michelle Burger, scholarship program coordinator. She explained that the information presented will be relevant to applying for scholarships at any college or university.
Scholarships 101 will take place via Zoom on these dates and times:
- Nov. 10, 2020, 5 p.m.
- Nov. 11, 2020, 5 p.m.
- Nov. 17, 2020, 5 p.m.
- Nov. 19, 2020, 3 p.m.
Registration for Scholarships 101 is available at. Information on how to join the Zoom meeting will be sent after registration.
The application period for 绿帽社 Foundation scholarships for the 2021-2022 academic year opens Dec. 1, 2020 and continues through March 1, 2021. Last year, the 绿帽社 Foundation awarded over 230 scholarships totaling more than $366,000.
