ÂÌñÉç to host Illinois Domestic Violence Conference Sept. 13

SPRINGFIELD — Lincoln Land Community College, in partnership with the Illinois Coalition Against Domestic Violence, Illinois Certified Domestic Violence Professionals and the Sojourn Shelter and Services will host the 2024 Peaceful Partners Illinois Domestic Violence Conference – Economic Justice on Sept. 13 in the Trutter Center, on the ÂÌñÉç main campus, 5250 Shepherd Road, Springfield.

The day-long conference is designed for domestic violence and health care professionals to earn continuing education units (CEUs), but open to the public. Registration is required.

Participants will choose breakout sessions on the economic impact domestic violence has on victims; financial fundamentals needed when moving forward, the intersection of HIV and domestic violence and barriers to health care; how to move beyond the identity of domestic violence and social determinants that impact the stability of survivors, like housing, food insecurity and more. The conference will conclude with a survivor’s story.

All sessions will be led by professionals from the National Network to End Domestic Violence.

The conference runs from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. More information, including registration, can be found at www.llcc.edu/health-ce. The deadline to register is Aug. 23.
